Review
Thank you to Delacorte Press & PRH for an ARC of this book!
If you love Erin Craig and Mara Rutherford you are going to LOVE this book.
This YA book is gothic horror and it is done so well. The book was both atmospheric and spooky and sent chills down my spine. The mystery aspect was superbly done.
Merrick was such a great main character, and I loved following her through this story. I thought how Gregovic played out how England had changed and the Manor Houses was fascinating.
The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat, I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen next. I also loved that you literally couldn’t trust any of the characters because Merrick couldn’t either. She’d been gone for long enough, and things have changed.
Nothing is as it seems…
This is not a romance book. It does use romance as a subplot, but it isn’t a romantasy.
This was a more subtle horror book and not straight out horror. Psychological suspense isn’t even quite the right term for it. But it uses a combination of different methods and themes to make this book unique.
I definitely feel like there could be a sequel to this book!
