Thank you to Jessica for allowing me to read an ARC of this book!
If you know me, you know how much I adore gothic themed books. Even better if it has a gothic romance. Add onto “inspiration from Poe” and you have me hooked.
I absolutely love Jessica’s writing. I find it so easy to get involved and fall into this book because of the writing. Her style is so engaging and I am obsessed with how readable the book is (it is also hard to put down!).
The romance in this book is *such* a vibe, and I loved every minute of it.

Also, incorporeal cats rule. If a book has a cat it gets an extra star automatically, especially if the cat is sassy. Sassy cats are the best.
If you can’t tell, this book has LOTS of things that I absolutely loved in it. From the plot (which was WILD and also good) to the romance (a few spicy moments) and the pacing (had me wanting more each time I got to the end of the chapter) I was obsessed.
Each moment in this book was wonderful, the atmosphere, the gothic aspects, the references and inspiration pulled from Poe — it all tied in wonderfully together.
