A Sorceress Comes To Call

Review

Thank you to Tor for an ARC of this book!

Holy cow (horses?!) this book was something else! Kingfisher manages to write such good fantasy mixed in with some horror elements. This book is definitely gothic/spooky vibes and had me on the edge of my seat.

It’s so hard to talk about this book without spoiling it, suffice to say I adored Hester and Cordelia. They were both such good characters and I thought that both their character arcs were well done.

The plot of this book was well thought out — I can’t say too much about it as then it would spoil some of the awesome parts of the book.

Just a side note, this is not so much a retelling as it is a reimagining. Same characters in a slightly different way.

Kingfisher always does excellently when including magic in her books, and I cannot say enough good things about how well it was incorporated in this one.

Absolutely enjoyed this book!
