I haven’t really read a gaslamp fantasy in a long time, and I was excited to dig into this one. The beginning was definitely intriguing and kept my attention.

I was very excited to dive back into this world, and while I thought the last book had been wrapped up nicely, it was still enjoyable to get another adventure.

I was SO EXCITED to dig into this book. It promised all sorts of goodies…and it delivered! Imagine me cheering right now, because man oh man did it DELIVER. It was everything I could have wanted and then some!

I have found a new love – this book. What an amazingly well written book! This is dark, dark fantasy and with witches – two things I adore.

I’ve pretty much loved all of Saft’s works, and this one is just as excellent as the others. While Down Comes the Night remains my favorite, this one is probably my second.

I love Egypt. I love archaeology. I love mysteries. I don’t love cliffhangers, and this book has one. ARGH.

I really liked the first two books in this series, but The Beautiful still remains my favorite. I definitely enjoyed Pippa’s book, and I was hoping to enjoy this one.

This book was excellently creepy and well written. It sent shivers down my spine. You know those “Stories to Tell in the Dark”?
