May 2023 Wrap – Up

May 2023 Wrap – Up

Happy June!!! And Happy Pride Month!

I love the month of June for multiple reasons, mostly because as much as I love the fall and winter, there is something revitalizing about the summer months. It also means I can go swimming! (after my eyes finish healing of course!) Here in sunny South Carolina it’s the humidity that will take you out — and it isn’t fun. If I could I’d lie outside or sit on the porch and read all day. I have fond summer memories of doing exactly that. And reading for my libraries summer reading program.

Now, I’m on the opposite side, I’m helping conduct summer reading. One of my favorite parts is the excitement in peoples faces as they log their reading and get prizes. It’s fun! So I’m looking forward to the next two months of that.

During the summer I tend to want to read lighter books, more fun filled books, I don’t know about anyone else, but that’s me. I also like to toss in a mystery/thriller every now and again as well. Last month May was a bit of a slow reading month for me.

I did however read several books that I very much enjoyed! Alas, no five star reads this month! I read 15 books in total this month!

Hooked by Emily McIntire ★★★.75

Two Wrongs Make a Right by Chloe Liese ★★★★.5

Silver in the Bone by Alexandra Bracken ★★★★.75

Newly Undead in Dark River by Grace McGinty ★★★

Happily Dead in Dark River by Grace McGinty ★★★

Pleasantly Undead in Dark River by Grace McGinty ★★★

Seductively Dead in Dark River by Grace McGinty ★★★

Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake ★★★★

Taken by Fate by Shannon Mayer ★★★★

Hunted by Fate by Shannon Mayer ★★★★

Hearts Forged in Dragon Fire by Erica Hollis ★★★★

House of Marionne by J. Elle ★★★

Little Thieves by Margaret Owen ★★★★.5

The Woods are Waiting by Katherine Greene ★★★★

I’ve got a bunch of books I want to read this month, but I can’t ever seem to stick to my TBR. I can’t wait to see what June holds for me!

  1. Ive been having the same problem with tbrs, even seasonally 😅 so it kicked the bucket for the summer.
Yes yes to lighter and fluffy reads!!

We’ve got unusual warmth for this time of year ranging 32-37 degrees celcius- which is way too much for me, I cant breathe 😬 ill stay in with my AC, thankyou.
