Thank you to Orbit for a finished copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Several authors I enjoy blurbed this book, but it also sounded like something that would be good, and therefore I was very excited to get a copy! I enjoyed the book overall, but there were a couple slow parts throughout the book.
I felt a few of the transition scenes were a bit awkward, especially at one moment towards the end of the book.
What I really loved was the folklore behind this book and how the faerie were depicted. I felt that it was done in a way that created depth to the world. I liked the background of the familial relationships Miller crafted in this book.
I also liked the writing in this book — I thought it was well done. I even liked the character arcs that Del and Alaina went through and their individual journeys,
Overall, this was a solid book that mixed magic with reality in a time outside our own!
