I thought this was a fantastic follow up to The Liar’s Crown. Meren is a character who has her flaws, but is always trying to do the right thing.
I love Kaufman’s writing style. I was engrossed in this book and couldn’t put it down; there was so much to love about it. The flow especially worked for me in this book.

It’s a little bittersweet to know that this is the last Ruth Galloway book. I’ve been following these books for years — I love the archaeology aspects and adore the mystery.
This book opens with a bang! A very cute bang! Tansy and Gemma are so adorable! I love Tansy and how she deals with life, I feel like starting off with her was a really great way to make the book more relatable.
