I love Ali Hazelwood, her books are just SO comforting to me. And I don’t like YA contemporary romances. So when I saw she was coming out with a YA contemporary I was nervous but also excited.

I cannot give this book enough stars. There will never be enough in this universe to tell you how much I loved this book.

I read this a few years ago, and I honestly didn’t remember much about it. When I started rereading it I vaguely remembered some of the characters, but it was mostly a new experience for me.

This book was atmospheric, spooky and lovely all at the same time. It was a delightful read and the combination of the mystery and paranormal aspect were well done.

Yes, this is still a VERY solid dragon book in the YA fantasy world. Filled with grit and politics, it is EXCELLENT. Definitely a 4 star read.

So first off, I was very nervous about this book — I worried I would miss Lou too much, but thankfully Celie stood so well as her own character, and the plot was superb as well.
