So, once again I have mixed feelings on this book. Much like the first one I think the pacing is just off

I was very satisfied with this book, it concluded in a way that I thought was wonderful.
I love a good dark romance, and this book delivered on the dark romance aspect.

I have many thoughts on this book and the main one is thus: sometimes book should stay as standalones.
This book picks up not too long after Ithaca ends, and we once again rejoin Penelope on Ithaca. Instead of Hera, Aphrodite narrates this book, and what I love about North is she makes these goddesses so likeable (or unlikeable depending on your POV).
Greek myth from the POV of women is something I adore, but sometimes it gets bogged down in a sort of way that doesn’t always work, but Claire North does something different
This acts as a sort of “prequel” to Six Crimson Cranes, as it is the stepmother’s story in this one. I thought that it was nice to get a backstory to someone we thought was a “villain” at first
